It’s saturday evening and finally time to sit down and write my post.
It has been a busy day with chores and shopping for groceries, visiting son 1 and re-homing one of son 4’s guinea pigs. We had lovely weather today, not at all what was expected (which was rain) and we could even spend some time outside in the sun.
I was up early this morning, did my exercises (I have lost 6 kilo’s by the way!) and went outside with the dogs. Binti is no longer in heat so she and Chewbacca can once again have their walks together much to their delight. They were quite adventurous this morning wanting to go off exploring together…
The sun was already shining through the trees creating a mystical atmosphere. I just love how quiet it is in the park at that early hour.
I had forgotten to put Chewbacca’s hair in a ‘topknot’ so his hair was all over the place.
There were a few brave little flowers
Next time I will have to bring my binoculars because I thought I saw Ruffs displaying in the distance, which is a rare sight.
Kemphaan balts, Philomachus pugnax
They were over by the pond in the distance.
It was just me and a lady runner on the dyke
I wish you could hear the birdsong all around
Hello my friends
It’s a beautiful sunny day, the washing is out on the line and I will definitely find a project to do outside later today.
As I said earlier, this is a difficult week, where painful decisions that have been long put off, will have to be made.
In a box of embroidery-stuff I found this :
I don’t remember where it came from, but it says: “Without love there isn’t much you can accomplish”. And I find it to be very true. When things get tough in your relationship with another person, wether it be a marriage or family relationship or friendship, you will need to purposefully search for the reasons why you love this person to be able to continue on with the relationship. And that can sometimes be a very hard thing to do, but if you will not make this effort to love, the relationship will be destined to end.
I also find it is helpful to remember happy times in general
Me holding a friend’s baby. I was this baby’s babysitter for a few months.
Or create your own happy times
Enjoying the sunshine with Binti
And knowing we all receive enough strength to overcome the hardships in our lives.
On a more cheerful note:
I am making progress on my cross stitching
Have a wonderful day
Hello friends on this cold but very bright morning,
Yesterday afternoon we went to what’s called ‘the hunting forest’. It’s just a few kilometres from our home and in the past you were not allowed to walk there. Now they’ve made nice paths and parking space and so that’s where we went for our walk. It’s a magical woodland and we were able to take some lovely photo’s. There were lot’s of people with dogs and Binti had a very good time. And I was able to recharge my batteries ready to face a difficult week ahead where some life changing decisions have to be made.
Once we got back home, a little late because we took the wrong path and had to walk another 15 minutes to reach our car :-), I finished the cross stitch picture my mum had made. Today I will be looking for a suitable frame.
Have a wonderful day!
Goodmorning, and a lovely sunny spring morning it is. They say it could be 20° next week!
On Saturdaymorning I played Portal 2 for a while. I’m already at chapter 7 again so not much more to go before I finish this game. It’s much more fun now I can handle the controls better and know how the game works. I’ve only needed help from son 4 twice so far and that is because I have a fear of heights in this game as well as in real life and that makes it hard for me to jump into a portal from great heights. It is silly to have such fear and sit with sweaty palms and heart racing, it is just a game after all. But I do find that is not so scary anymore the second time around, so maybe it will help with my fears in real life if I play games? Let’s hope so, because not being able to stand on a chair or stepladder is not very practical.
In the afternoon I have been out with my parents
Here we were close to Zierikzee, we drove over the Zeelandbrug which used to be the longest bridge in Europe for a long time – 5 km’s – I don’t like driving over it much as it is very narrow and I always worry about the car breaking down in the middle of the bridge, because there is nowhere to go, you have to stand still in the traffic lane
The sun was still out but there was a mist coming in from the sea and on the way back we could hardly see the car in front of us
The bridge has a section that opens to let boats through. We had to sit and wait for almost 10 minutes to let this tiny sailing boat pass under the bridge.
We’re almost there, Ridderkerk is where I was born and we were on our way to visit with my mum’s sister who has just moved out of the house she has lived in for the past 52 years into a lovely new flat just a few blocks away.
We were back home just in time for dinner and in the evening I worked a bit on one of the UFO’s I have found in my crafting cupboard
It’s a lovely picture by Dimensions and I started on this a few years ago, but then I couldn’t see the stitches very well anymore and lost interest. Now I want to finish it finaly and it is going well so far. I will probably be working on it again today since son 2 has the car and I will not be going anywhere because of it. I may also be cleaning our printer today as well, it is clogged up with old ink.
Have a lovely sunday!
